How does telehealth therapy work?

We meet by secure, HIPAA-compliant video from a private space of your choice anywhere in Minnesota. You'll receive a simple link before each session — no special software, no commute, no waiting room.

Do you accept insurance?

Yes. I am in-network with most major plans and their affiliates, including Aetna, Cigna, and Optum. I also welcome private-pay clients who prefer the privacy and flexibility cash-pay therapy offers.

Why would I choose private pay over insurance?

Private pay protects your privacy (no diagnosis is shared with an insurance company), removes session limits, and keeps treatment focused entirely on your goals. Many clients find the flexibility worth the investment.

How long are sessions?

Standard sessions are 45–50 minutes. Initial intake appointments may run slightly longer so we have time to understand your full story.

Do you work with trauma?

Yes. Trauma-informed care is woven into everything I do, and I have specialized training in evidence-based approaches for trauma and PTSD. We move at the speed of your nervous system, never faster.

Absolutely — only when you request it. Evidence-based therapy remains the foundation of treatment, and faith, Scripture, and prayer can be thoughtfully incorporated when you want them to be part of our work.

That uncertainty is one of the most common starting points there is. We can begin with a single conversation and decide together whether continuing makes sense. There is no pressure and no commitment beyond the next session.
